I have integrated several community data sets into the “Powered by Hero Lab” update feature. This will allow the process of updating to work almost exactly the same as how you currently get official updates from Hero Lab. This feature is called Updates and is VERY easy to setup. After setup you can simply download and import future enhancements to the data sets automatically and you will be notified on HL start up when an update is available.
Instructions on using the HL Updates feature
- Please see THIS pdf document located on Chiefweasel’s site. It will go over the couple steps needed to setup the Updates feature.
- The URL listed in the document above is for the d20 project so please use the following instead: http://www.shadowsoftware.net/herolab/d20pfsrd/updates.xml
- Restart Hero Lab and click on the Find Updates button and near the bottom of the list you will find the new “d20pfsrd – ” data sets available.

Additional HL Packages Required
Planned server downtime scheduled for Tomorrow at 10:00 AM (Dec 2nd, in 11 hours 15 minutes). Expected duration of downtime is 5 minutes. Your search term for Herolab will return more accurate download results if you exclude using keywords like: crack, serial, activation, code, download, keygen, etc. Many downloads like Herolab may also include a serial number, cd key or keygen. If this is the case it is usually included in the full crack download archive itself.
To be able to use some of these data sets correctly they may require official HL data sets. During the install process you will see in red lettering Required HL Packages: and after that will be a list of data sets required (ie CORE means just takes the base data set you get when you purchased HL). If you don’t have these data sets then Hero Lab WILL NOT LOAD any of your custom changes and will produce error messages.
Your house rules and Community data sets
You should treat the community data set files in the same way you would official Hero Lab files. This means you should NOT make changes directly to the .user files as those changes will be lost when you update to the next version. Instead you should create a new uniquely named .user file that does a Replaces Thing ID Install mac os x 10.6 8ate mac os x 10 6 8. if you need to put in your own house rules over these community data sets.
I can’t find the file to download on the d20pfsrd website
Correct the data packages listed in on this page are ONLY available via the update mechanism at this time. Its too hard to maintain multiple sites so for now the “bigger” data packages I will only be releasing them the through update feature of HL.
What data packages are available?
- Community Bestiary – This package contains the Adventure Path monsters and hundreds of 3PP monster books. This is the package you need/want if your the GM.
- Community Player Pack – This package contains 3PP AP and Paizo Module items that players care about. It contains no monsters or GM specific stuff. This is the package you want if your playing in a campaign.
- Psionics Unleashed – This package contains the Dreamscarred Press – Psionics Unleashed for pathfinder.
- Dark Sun – This package contains RavenX’s Dark Sun campaign setting converted to Pathfinder.
- Super Genius Games – This package contains many SGG classes and feats by Armidale, Asandir and ShadowChemosh.
- Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting – This package is a work in progress of converting FR over to pathfinder rules.
- Eberron Campaign Setting – This package is a work in progress of converting Eberron over to the pathfinder rules.
Hero Lab for the Pathfinder Beginner Box
The program is a separate, free version of Hero Lab that only supports Paizo's Pathfinder Beginner Box. It supports the character creation rules from the Hero's Handbook and Player Pack, as well as allowing the creation of monsters from the Gamemaster's Guide and GM Kit.
